FSK-Lab Logo

Food Safety Knowledge Lab (FSK-Lab) is an open-source extension to the Konstanz Information Miner (KNIME). FSK-Lab enables KNIME users to work with FSKX models within KNIME. FSKX is an information exchange format for script-based models from the food safety domain – for details see here.

The FSK-Lab software allows users to:

  • create / edit FSKX models
  • import / export FSKX models
  • run FSKX models written in R or Python
  • join FSKX models

To install FSK-Lab follow the instructions here.

As FSK-Lab is an open source software project other software developers can join and extend the FSK-Lab source code. The software development process and the source code is available at: https://github.com/SiLeBAT/FSK-Lab

Tutorials

Note:

The information exchange format “FSKX” was formerly called “FSK-ML”. The video is a bit outdated on that aspect, but still describes the objective very well.

This video is a good introduction into the software KNIME and the FSK-Lab extension. Note: with FSK-Lab 2.0 the look-and-feel of some nodes has changed a bit and also some new nodes were added to the FSK-Lab node library.

Note: with FSK-Lab 2.0 the look-and-feel of the “FSK Editor JS” node has improved a lot. Despite of that, the video still capture the idea of how to import and export FSKX models very well.

Note: with FSK-Lab 2.0 the look-and-feel of the “FSK Simulation Configurator JS” node has improved a lot. Despite of that, the video still capture the idea of how to create and run a model with own simulation settings very well.
